Our main goal is to highlight the important but often ignored roles of African Americans and other minorities in the U.S. military. We know there’s a big gap in how history books talk about these groups and their bravery and important sacrifices for our country. We want everyone to know the real story, which includes all who served, even those who haven’t been talked about much before.
We want to teach and inspire people of all ages about the amazing and complicated history of minorities in the military. By sharing stories that include everyone and are true to history, we hope people will understand and appreciate the challenges and successes of these soldiers, both men and women. We want to honor what they’ve done and change the way people have wrongly thought about minorities in the past.
We’re working to make a place where everyone feels accepted and understands each other better, by fixing mistakes in the way history has been told. We want to make sure that the hard work and sacrifices of these soldiers, who often weren’t treated fairly, are known and respected. We believe it’s really important to recognize the efforts of all Americans to fully understand our country’s history and to bring everyone together with pride and respect.
